A poster and advertisement for the Young Socialist National Convention to be held in Cleveland in November of 1972. One side features a large photo of the young people gathered in a demonstration or something similar, with the reverse containing information about the Young Socialist Alliance, what their ideals are and what their goals are. The Young Socialist Alliance was a youth group that was part of the socialist Workers Party, and that was active from 1960 to 1992. VERY GOOD condition. minor toning, wrinkling and edgewear. The CCCO was formed in 1948 as an organization supporting activists and secular people who resisted war, as well as those who voluntarily enlisted but wanted to be discharged. The organization ceased activity in 2011. All items in GOOD or better condition, with minor scattered soiling and creasing to the corners of some pieces. Good .

A leaflet advertising a debate between Dr. Barbara Roberts of the Women's National Abortion Coalition and Dr. Mildred F. Jefferson of the Value of Life Committee. Barbara Roberts was part of the Women's National Action Coalition, which was formed in 1971 and disbanded in 1973. The group advocated for abortion rights and birth control. Dr. Mildred F. Jefferson was a prominent anti-abortion activist, including serving as president of the National Right to Life Committee. GOOD condition. The BU SDS demanded that all remaining copies of the September issue of the Atlantic Monthly be taken back, a direct rebuttal printed, and Richard Herrnstein fired from Harvard. VERY GOOD condition. Printed on a single side only, with a large photo of George Jackson. A handbill promoting a rally being held at the start of the Republican National Convention in Miami in 1972. The event was held in memory of activist George Jackson who had been killed while attempting to escape from prison in August of 1971. Bobby Seale of the Black Panther Party, Jackson's lawyer John Thorne, Louis Kammack and Sean Keane were all scheduled to speak. Topics included political repression, police brutality, underemployment, substandard housing, inadequate care for the poor, etc. The rally was sponsored by the Malcolm X United Liberation Front, SCLC, Miami Conventions Coalition and Vietnam Veterans Against the War. This issue discusses the deciding to keep the ROTC at Harvard; the decision between choosing a "strike" education versus a corporate education, etc. GOOD condition. Professor Morris J. Lansky Defense Fund Contribution Letter

No Place, No publisher. Unbound. No publisher, place or date. Perhaps Arizona, late 1970, early 1971. Three sheets, 8 ½ by 11 inches, with two stapled at the upper left corner. Dark yellow stock. Printed on single sides only. A letter explaining the plight of Professor Morris J. Lansky, accompanied by a short biography page. The letter details his struggles with Arizona State University after he addressed students at an anti-racism rally. The Arizona State Board of Regents brought charges against him, which after a public hearing, were dismissed. Despite this, he was dismissed from ASU in June of 1970. He was then declined for a temporary position in California due to this interaction. Various suits were brought against ASU and California. The letter sought to establish a "Committee of 1000," to raise $1000 for his legal expenses. Morris J. Lansky was a professor and was one of the first citizens to use the Freedom of Information Act to discover that he was subjected to the FBI's COINTELPRO, revealing he had been subject to illegal wiretaps and surveillance. This issue with a large photo of a Black soldier, along with a small map of the area in which protests in Chicago were to happen. Front page discusses the refusal of Black GIs to serve a riot control in Chicago, with 43 held in a stockade. Reverse gives news briefs, firsthand accounts of protesting, etc. GOOD+ condition. The War Resisters League was founded in 1924, consisting of members who had opposed World War I. We Stand Against Oppression Iraq Protest Poster

No Place, Iraki Revolutionary Communists, Publisher. Unbound. No place or date. Presumed late 1970s, early 1980s. Printed in white and black only. We have had another version of this where the figure about to be hanged was colored red. 19 by 27 ½ inches. Poster reads in English and Arabic, "We stand against oppression and bloody terrorism in Iraq. We have decided to fight. We have decided to victory." The Iraki (Iraqi) Revolutionary Communists formed from a split with the Revolutionary Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party. The Revolutionary Communists objected to the Iraqi Communist Party's alliance with Baathist rule in Iraq, advocating militant action against them. The group fell apart in the 1980s after the assassinations of several of its leaders (see Wikipedia for previous information). POOR/FAIR condition. Several horizontal fold creases to the piece, with heavy curling at the bottom edge. Other creases and wrinkles present. A few small tears and some scuffing along the extremities. Poor .
